Dedication to Deacon Debra Vela
This heartfelt dedication honors Deacon Debra Vela, the visionary CEO of Children’s Food Ministry and founder of the newly launched Deacon Debra Christian Academy, a kindergarten school that radiates faith, compassion, and purpose.
Through Children’s Food Ministry, she continues to lead a movement of mercy—transforming hunger into healing and offering every child the dignity of a warm meal and a caring community. Her leadership is not loud—it is deeply rooted, quietly powerful, and abundantly fruitful.
The Academy, bearing her name, now opens its gates to nurture children at their earliest stages—teaching them not only numbers and letters, but kindness, reverence, and spiritual grounding. In January 2026, it will welcome its first Baby Class, preparing even the littlest ones to enter the nurturing arms of kindergarten with joy and readiness.
Within the Diocese of Dallas, Deacon Vela continues her ministry with grace: mentoring, teaching, and lifting others toward their divine calling. Her work reaches across ages, continents, and cultures—always guided by humility, anchored in prayer, and fueled by love.
We don’t just celebrate her legacy—we walk in it. Daily.
"Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it." — Proverbs 22:6
